My Ladies finger bore fruit. It was not so hard as I always thought.

It seeded just two months ago. After 7 days itself the plant germinated.

What I forgot do was, I didn’t soaked the seeds before I planted. I came to know that if I had soaked the seed the germination would have happened in 3 days time.

Another mistake is that I sowed all the seeds in one pot itself. Actually there was seed for 3 cents of  land.

After 3 weeks I was able to see the seeds becoming small plant, may be the size of small grass.

I replanted these grass sized plants to different plots. 70% of the plants didn’t grow.

I became little disappointed that time. My disappointment was reduced after 1 week when I saw flowers in the plant.

My first thought was it gonna fruit after 1 week. But it didn’t happen.

I waited for another 3 weeks to see some sort of a sign. In between some flowers faded  also.

It took another 2 weeks to get what you saw in the images above

Actually I haven’t done nothing much than watering daily. I am not honest when I say daily. As it was monsoon watering also became easy for me. As it was terrace top (12 floors above) there was no attack of pests also.

When I seeded I made the soil mix with organic fertilizers and cow manure.

Thats all guys. Thats my ladies fingers story. And I am extremely happy to see that I could do it .

I dedicate this success to my mummy who helped me in seeding. my wife for encouraging me to do so, Ani annan my elder brother for giving me full support morally and also with fertilizers, soil etc and also introducing me to the real farmers from whom I got inspiration. I am a software engineer who would like to do some kitchen gardening. I stay in an apartment. But I am able to do pot gardening and becoming successful to an extent. Believe me it’s so easy

I strongly believe farmers has been, is and will always be the back bone of a society. After all farmers are doing what GOD is doing – Creation.

No society can survive neglecting farmers as all living being needs food. Humans are basically herbivorous converted to omnivorous. So vegetables is an essential part of our life. Somebody should cultivate for us to conceive it.

I strongly suggest each individual should plant at least one plant in their life. To see the plant grow and seed would be one of the greatest enjoyment you can get in your life.

So go ahead and plant today.
